SCORES
When we first started trying to create music, our original goal was to score our own films. As young filmmakers we found it nearly impossible to find musicians that worked for little enough pay or were skilled enough to deliver the proper tonal moods for the type of films we wanted to make.
So we picked up some sampling software and started attempting to make music on our own. Coincidentaly, our filmmaking really slowed for a few years because of constricting jobs and lack of funds. Music became our first priority and we really got involved in digital music creation. Taking up the moniker Base Eklectix we began to release music onto the internet music sites, participate in remix contests and talk with other musicians to evolve our sound. Along the way we started recording local musicians and bands. We met alot of great people that have truely shaped the way we see music.
As we began to entertain the idea of creating artistic film again we remembered that our original intent was to learn music for score purposes. Although we still did not regard ourselves as musicians, we were pretty sure that we could achieve minimalistic compositions for our films.
We are pretty proud of our progress. As our films get bigger and better we hope the creativity of our music matches the caliber of our vision.
Below are some examples of our most creative work. We hope they make you feel.

Predominantly scored by Rekoj', -The Job- is the first artistic film that we fully scored on our own. Within the score we placed the song that we created with Derek Grierson entitled Fadeaway, and another song from Derek Grierson and Sliverfit entitled Smile. We might upload more of the score later.

Once again mainly composed by Rekoj' with Qualmow adding his dark feel. Dark Soul was a bit more of a challenge because of it's moody nature while still being a film that is mostly a chase scene. The theme was created by Brian Deleon and Qualmow , going for a lost innocence feel. We are real happy to have worked with Brian, his ideas gave us a landscape that was reused multiple times throughout the film.
Another featured artist is Viveka Avila. At the time of our collaberation she lived outside of the Untied States. We would have to chat with her via trillian, send her the music and the video (if we had it done yet) for inspiration. She would then work her vocal magic and send us back the track. She adds a powerly pleading and feminine elemnt to the film.
